"Excellent book, loved it, well done"
Intriguing
"The author certainly outdid themselves. I loved it from start to finish. The story just grabs you and you wait in fear as to who is next and how they are going to die. The characters are well built and the story moves along fast. It just keeps building and the ending was beautifully written. Can not wait to see more from this author. Great job. A must read if you like horror ... this definitely is a story that keeps you on the edge. Once you start you can not put it down. Loved it from start to finish."
Asylum
"Awesome story"
My Kind of Spooky
"I love spooky stories. I love interesting characters with interesting relationship dynamics. I especially love when these two things come together. I'm still reading and let me tell you, I am invested. I'm the type of person who likes to theorize and guess where the story is going and the author has so subtly left these little bread crumbs that makes me believe things aren't what they seem to be. Is the narrator even reliable? Is the world even what it seems to be? That's the joy of reading this for me. It's a nuanced telling of a very classic story. Truly a joy. So turn off the light and start reading already."
Amazing 👏
"Interesting story and a great plot 👍 keep writing sis. "
I Dare you to Stop Reading
"The story had me hooked from the first chapter. The characters are so well written that I feared for their safety. When you feel concerned about fictional characters the author did something right. I could not put this down. I don't know what was worse the suspense of the story or waiting for the next update. Really well thought out and the ending was really unexpected. Great story!!"
Dare
"This book has thriller, mystery, and emotions to it. Love the story development. Minor mistakes but it can be edited. I like the story structre, the decription well done. This is a thrilling book that captivates. Love how the author took the time to write this. Amazing feel proud XX"
Great!
"It was really good! I love horror so I really liked it! "
The Dare
"Wow! I loved this book. It was interesting right from the start, not dry and boring slow intro like lots of books I have read. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. Read the whole thing in hours dying to know what happens next though, will there be another book to come? I hope so! "
Double the Dare
"Yoooooooooooo! Lemme find out I just cried for nothing!!!!! I loved the book and the ending especially because, come on, who could've seen that coming? Like whaaaaaaaaa..... I think you should write some kind of equal for the chapter before she wakes up because I was thinking it could've been a twist on reality."
Double Dare ‘Ya
"Sage has always felt socially awkward in life. She is not as outgoing as her more popular twin sister Salem. And she prefers working on her art then to attend social outings. But when her newly made friend Avery traps her into attending a school camp fire, Sage promises herself to keep her distance from her new friends. After all, she does not want to recreate the tragedy with these innocent teens. The one where everyone dies ... Honestly, this was very well written. In fact I wasn’t expecting the quality that I found here. I particular liked how well formed Wordspileup has developed her characters. Sage for example is not some cookie-cutter cliche as our protagonist, but a distinct personality with her own thoughts and feelings. (I suspect Sage might possibly suffer from some form of undiagnosed Autism too. But I would have to read more to find out for sure.) Wordspileup is certainly a talented and skillful writer. I wouldn’t be surprised if to see this particular author’s works in Barnes and Nobles one day. Just not under the name of Wordspileup. Lol. "
5/5 ✨
"Gotta pause in my reading and make a review or else I'll stay up to 2 AM reading this and then forget. It's really great, honestly Nothing wrong with it. Love how round and dynamic the characters are. For example, Avery is more than just a preppy fun girl who loves to party. She can be sarcastic and witty and pretty savage. She also came off as a bit fake in the beginning and its important to note that people have flaws too. You did a great job showing this. Avery is my favorite, despite her only being in the background. I also love how you write twins that aren't "basically the opposite in everything" I personally feel like that trope is overused. Good luck continuing this story!"
A Sinister Thriller
"The Dare is a riveting and sinister thriller! I adore the contrasting personalities of both melancholy Sage and sweet Salem! I love how their differences play off of one another, and this improves the dialogue tenfold. My only concern is how many times you mentioned how gloomy Sage is. Following the general rule of 'show not tell' I'd recommend that you accentuate Sage's anti-social behavior more through her interactions rather than repetition. Overall, a compelling horror story I very much enjoyed reading!"
The Dare
"The author is very talented! The author knows how to hook you in and does that right from the beginning, which leaves you wanting to read more. The character development throughout the story is astonishing. It’s spectacular to see how diverse all of the characters are. All of the characters have their insecurities and obstacles that they have to work through, and the author displays this in a very relatable and realistic manner. Another thing the author does is buildup tension. At the end of every chapter, there is some sort of a cliffhanger that leaves you longing for more. Overall, the story is well-composed and engaging. The author is truly proficient. If you're looking to read a good short story, you should undoubtedly read this. Trust me you will not regret it. "
Blown Away
"This story is just so well written that I'm literally losing my head right now. The author knows how to reel her readers in with her captivating words. This book has kept me on the edge of my seat since I started reading it. Truth be told, I hate horror genre because...Oh well, I hate ghosts big time. After reading this, I think I looked over my shoulder at least a hundred times, in fear. Hats off to the writer for creating such an amazing piece of work! Keep going! I can't wait to read the rest!"
The Dare
"This is definitely the thriller I've been waiting for!!! The story is well constructed and always leaves you hanging off the edge of your seat wanting more. The character development is amazing and brings the story to life. This is definitely one of those stories you have to read with your lights on! Its a heart ponder for sure and I would recomend to people who love horror and even those who don't. Its a great story for teenagers and adults alike! The chapterd a often updated making it a fun and suspenseful read without having to wait long. It's been a while since I've read a story that keeps me looking over my shoulder in my own home and I can't wait to see the new horrors cast upon Sage and her friends in the chapters to come!!!!"
Sinister and Fun
"The author is skilled at building up tension in their writing. The chapters are left with cliffhangers which made me want to read on. However every so often the tense slips from present to past and there are a few spelling errors which can be fixed with editing. I like how the protagonist's anxiety plays out and she grows stronger and more confident as the story progresses. The story flows well and the supernatural asylum setting is fun and sinister. I am eagerly waiting for more chapters. Great work."
Good short story
"Starts off well with a prologue that hooks you in and gets better from there. Good level of detail on how the main character feels and the way they navigate around in a new school/area. Side characters are diverse and interesting even when first introduced. Story moves quickly into more exciting territory and also makes you wonder about happened to cause the protagonist to be this way. Once the story enters the supernatural element the suspense is built up well and keeps you wondering what will happen next and whether they will survive. Story is unfinished so waiting for more chapters to release "
Spookyyy
"I LOVE horror books, Stephen King is one of my all time favorite writers since I'm so obsessed with the horror genre. This book definitely gave me that good suspenseful, pit in your stomach feeling as I was reading. I really like the plot and the characters are relatable. Only two critiques: The dialogue is a little choppy and not natural, I feel like teenagers would be cussing/not speaking so formally. Also, there are huge paragraphs that I think you need to separate out just for aesthetic reasons. When people look at a page and just see huge paragraph after paragraph they can get overwhelmed and start skipping through, so to make sure readers read every line make sure you separate paragraphs (they shouldn't be more than maybe two three sentences per chunk, unless it's a monologue that you can't really separate). But that's only for aesthetic appeal. Besides those two things, great story!"
