My Review
"i just love this book. the story started out as a normal girl in an orphanage but then she discovered the book and went on her first adventure. i just love the plot and style of this story and want to encourage you to keep doing what you're doing. but i still think it could be better"
I fell in love with this book
"This is really great. I love the characters, especially Emma, and how much she grows out of her shell since the beginning. From the first chapter I was drawn in because of the different themes, characters, and personalities. This book has amazing potential, but one thing I want to point out is the now-and-then grammar mistakes, but I feel like if I can understood it fine then you don't have to fix that, but it might make it easier to read. Something I really love abut this book is all the different elements of the story. I love how you put in themes about autism, LGBTQ+, AND fantasy, as well as having an orphan in the story which makes their past more interesting. That makes it one of my favorite types of books."
Indeed Out Of The Box
"I am not much of a fantasy person, actually😅. But this story really kept me on a steady beat, and I finished reading it in one sitting. I really loved the background of the characters. Beautiful writing, with proper grammar and vocabulary. Had me hooked up till the very end. You indeed have the talent!! All the best! Can't wait to read more!!"
Love the plot! Awesome fantasy!
"Ok so at first was a bit thrown off. But after a chapter or so it picks up big time. Emma the m.c is a brainy orphan who gets plunged into a fantasy world filled with awesomeness. I can't wait to see how it unfolds."
Much love <3
"Perfect innocence. That’s the first thing I thought about after finishing your book. First, I have to apologize for taking so long, I had other work to do that got in my way, but I am so glad you recommended me this book of yours. I love every character, I love Sam and Meghan and their shared love with Emma for fantasy books, and I absolutely love the way you portrayed Emma, a young girl without parents, who found joy and relation to the characters in the books she read. I work with kids, and many of them come with vast stories even though they’ve lived such short lives. I found Emma’s loneliness to be very much of a sad thing for a girl her age to be dealing with deep inside. She, as well as some of the kids I teach, use other means of finding connection to fill gaps in their souls where former attachments had either been severed or non-existent. Some parts made me cry, as I was periodically brought to the back of my mind where my hope for children like Emma—to achieve a sense of belonging and closure—remains. Even though one receives good things like Emma did when finally being adopted into a loving family towards the beginning of the book, and building a relationship with them steadily over time, children can still feel like they’re missing something, at such young ages. Apart from that, I know that you are autistic, as you make that well and beautifully known in your bio, and I love how you incorporated that into your story. This is me going off on a sort of tangent, but I have to tell you. I find it weird that people in this world look at those with autism and other beautiful gifts and deem them “mental illnesses” or setbacks. I believe they are not setbacks, but windows; things like autism are unique eccentricities that provide a new outlook on the beauty of our world and the experience of every being within it. “Normal” people look out of the same window, and see the same colors, yet experience different things, but people with autism and ADHD and Down syndrome, etc, see all of this and more through windows with different colored frames, which is in itself, a whole ‘nother experience. I’ve been working on a poem about this very philosophy of mine. I’ve always admired people with said gifts. I’m very happy I got to experience a person like you; and happy that you introduced me to your book—it has opened my eyes to see through your window a little bit more. Thank you for existing, and keep writing! This book is so purely innocent, I love it colorfully. ~ L A N • C A I ~"
Relatable
"Outstanding work creating a very relatable main character in Emma., especially with her struggles with autism and dealing with bullying, something many teens deal with as they transition towards the real world. It definitely could benefit from an edit; others have suggested prowritingaid.com, which I have used, but overall fantastic job!"
The Last Sorceress
"Hi Sofia, I read your work - all of it. And must say, I'm impressed! OK, your story may not be the kind that would be my first choice of reading, but that allowed me to concentrate more on matters that are a little more objective, and a little less well, 'a matter of taste'. And that would mostly be what comes under the heading of 'grammar & punctuation'. And in that regard, what struck me was notably positive. Am I saying that I found it to be perfect? Er... no! No? But what then? Well, it struck me that your attention to detail in this regard was well, meticulous. (Well done!) But...? Well, firstly, I noticed very few 'mistakes'... that is, the sort of things that so many writers on this site seem to just ignore, and plough on regardless! And hey, a few such mistakes are to be expected. To what am I referring? A missing comma... a missing inverted comma... a sentence beginning with a lower-case letter. And as I say, you have a few of these, but to your credit, very few! Now, there are a few other things that probably also belong under the heading of 'grammer & punctuation' that are probably not so much mistakes, but 'matter of convention'. Firstly, your use of inverted commas. I may be wrong, but I think you'll find that it is 'normal' to use -double- inverted commas ("so") to enclose sentences (or sections thereof) in -dialog-. And single inverted commas, only in the manner I have used them here - as in saying 'normal'! And one other thing kinda jumped out at me - (nothing too serious!) but something that you may want to ponder. "Have a nice day," Fred said. Great. I noticed quite a few places where you said something in the form "Have a nice day," Fred smiled/grinned/laughed etc. Hmmm... I don't think -anyone- manages to 'smile/grin/laugh' words! So, I think I am right in sugesting that in such a case, the 'correct' form would be "Have a nice day," Fred said with a smile. - or "Have a nice day," Fred said, smiling. (or grinning/laughing etc!) So... does that mean that I'm marking you down in 'stars' for grammar etc? Well, I could, but I won't... if only 'cos I'd say you are still nearer 5 than 4 in this regard! :)"
The Last Sorceress and Emma’s First Hope
"Emma, an orphaned nine year old, dreams of love and acceptance from a would be family. Instead she is bullied at her orphanage and labeled ‘Freak’ by the other children. Her only friends are the characters she finds in books. Emma especially enjoys consoling herself in the tales of King Arthur. But then the unthinkable occurs when she is adopted by a female couple. Surely a ‘freak’ does not deserve such good fortune, Emma assures herself. Especially since Sam and Meghan, her new parents, also share a love for reading. When Emma discovers a rather unusual book in her new home, a book that is leather bound and tantalizing labeled Hero’s Journey in silver script, she begins to sense that her good fortune maybe has just begun. As well as challenges that could destroy her if she is not properly prepared. As usual, author Sofi Corsi doesn’t disappoint with her excellent writing skills. She labels this novel as a children’s story. If so, then it is as much of a children’s story as the Harry Potter books or C. S. Lewis Narnia tales. In other words there are significant things here for an adult to enjoy too as well. I certainly enjoyed it. Sofi Corsi is another one of those authors I believe whose works we may one day see in a book store. At any rate this is a wonderfully inspiring tale about daring to hope when the odds are against you. "
Very good.
"Well done. This is very young adult fiction, or at least us that feel from the first couple chapters. The characters and the relationship between them is relatable and well written. Heck of a job. I already downloaded it and can’t wait to read more. Good work."
I Love Emma!
"I love Emma so much! This story is really cute. :) The characters have their own personalities and relationships and quirks that just bring a smile to my face as I read. I've never been one to be into stories with young characters, but this is so well-written and cute and intriguing that I actually WANT to read. I'd definitely recommend this story. :D"
Awesome Vibes!
"Heck, this book is so professional! I love Emma's and Sam's characters and how well they are shown! I love Mike and Meghan too. This book reminds of so many great books written by famous authors - Harry Potter, A Little Princess, Anne Of Green Gables. I admire how the story goes in flow, it's so lucid, so crystal-clear and interestingly placed! Amazing work!"
The Last Sorceress
"I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I am not used to reading books with such a young main character and I was apprehensive at first but that quickly went away. This book is so wholesome I love it. The concept is quite unique. And who doesn't love a good adventure. I also really enjoyed that the author normalized having two mums. I am left wanting more and i will continue to read until the end. I am excited for what is to come next."
Captivating!
"This is not the type of book I would usually read, and given that it's a children's book, I wasn't expecting much with the plot or characters. However, this definitely exceeded my expectations! From the start, I couldn't stop reading. The characters are so charming, the writing style is very pleasant and sweet, and even though the plot was fairly simple, it was exceedingly appealing. One of my favorite parts about this book is the LGBTQ representation, which is so rarely present in children's books, and all books in general. The grammar mistakes were abundant to the point where it was a bit confusing sometimes. Most mistakes lie in the lack of commas and incorrectly used possessives. The dialogue was well-written, but sometimes it was unclear who was actually talking because the speech paragraphs were so short. The one issue I have with the plot is how 50 sorcerers weren't able to defeat the king and his army two years ago, but only a dozen sorcerers could defeat the same army in the story. I get that they were waiting for the sorcerer in the prophecy, but it just seems unrealistic when you look at how powerful the sorcerers were, and how weak the army was. Even with those issues, this is still a fantastic story :)"

"Okay, so I was supposed to review your story, just as a part of our review swap, but I absolutely LOVEEEE THISSSS! The storyline is so unique and the characters are carefully introduced, to make sure the readers aren't confused and I love the natural calm flow of the story. No unwanted chaos, just a little girl who's specified as different, but in a good way (I'm still in chapter 7) and the writer has used short paragraphs and easy language for anyone to understand the story and what can I say, this is a masterpiece!! I've seen that some people have commented saying how annoying your grammar is, but trust me the interest I had while reading your creativity covers up for that, so job well done! (And I've added this to my reading list, so I'm hoping to read it til the endddd!) All the best and I hope many readers out there would get a hold of your beautiful piece of work!"
Great Work!!!!
"Your book is too amazing. Though I'm still in the middle of reading your book, I could tell that you perfectly describe every scenerio, which really helps me to visualize. Honestly, I love the idea of your book and its genre, especially how you construct your plot. Keep the good work!"
Lovely start!
"(Read til the end of chapter 7) This was such a lovely start! Given that it's a children's book, I wasn't really expecting much in the way of writing style, but I was quickly proven wrong in that regard. The author managed to capture a lot of detail and emotion in very few words - it suited the piece perfectly given that it was from a child's POV. There was an innocent wonderment about the piece that gave it an Anne of Green Gables vibe, and I loved the pro-LGBTQ+ stance and the fact that there wasn't an issue with same-sex parents. I think that's such an important message to get across to children and there are too few books out there that deal with it, so props to the author for helping to fill in that unfortunate gap! The characters themselves were very well written. Despite the simplicity of the narrative, they came across strongly. I really felt the connection she had with her new parents; shared love of reading and literature is a powerful bond across the ages. The author captured the childlike voice of Em perfectly; the dialogue and word choice reflected her age, which is something many authors forget when writing from a young person's POV, so well done with that. I hope to read on soon - lovely job! :) "
Great story so far
"I have just finished reading chapter 6 and it is really good. You have managed to hook me into the story from the first few sentences and I can't wait to read more. It is a great story so far and I am looking forward to reading more."
Emma, can I bring you home?
"Firstly, you got some potential. Like so much potential. What a unique and authentic idea you got going on here, and your development of the story is extremely promising. I binged every chapter from start to end. Each one of your characters, whether it's Emma, Sam, Meghan or others, I love every one of them, because they are so well fleshed out. It shows how much effort you've given to outline these characters that they feel so real. You know, the first thing I notice when selecting a book is its genre. So when I first discovered it was a fantasy genre, I got a bit hesitant since they are not my usual read. But I wanted to give it a shot — read the first chapter, immediately got hooked. Second chapter. Fell in love with Emma and her passion for reading. Third chapter. Fourth chapter... and I just could not stop. It was that immersive! The thing that fascinated me was your excellent execution of Emma's character. It's usually hard to read small children's characters because authors tend to exaggerate their maturity, but I feel you nailed it! Hats off for that! Though, there were a couple of punctuation mistakes here and there which stuck out to me and interrupted my reading flow. So, I suggest — use Grammarly or ProWritingAid to go over the chapters, and have them do the rest of the work for you. But, overall, this story was truly thrilling! Stunning work!"
Loved it!
"From beginning to end, I was captivated by this story. Emma is a lovely child and the adventures that she went on were fun. I can't believe that its finished. I love the fact that she escaped the negativity from the beginning and now she's happier than ever. She stayed true to herself even with her bully and now the so called 'Freak' is having the time of her life with her new family who loves her dearly. Great job!"
The Last Sorceress and the Amulet
"This story was really amazing from start to end, I love how you described Emma and how strong you made her bond with her adoptive parents. Keep up the good writing I can't wait to read more of your books "
