What is your opinion?

Weird mix

"So when I saw that this was a horror romance I thought owe it was just going to be another case of Stockholm syndrome but make it more fucked up. But,.. well it is sorta like like that but it was an interesting read that made me turn every page and even re-read it like it was a drug. Loved the story and I can't wait to read more of it. Thank you author for coming out with this story."

"this book Hass to be one of my favorite so far, The dynamic between the two main characters it’s just addicting, and I genuinely want the best for them, Not to mention the authors ability to write amazing dialogue, in lines that will stick with throughout the day, I also quite enjoyed the descriptors for things, and how much it adds to the world!! I have full intention to continue reading this book!!! 1-14 chapters"

Great!!

"I think you have something really good going here! I like the premise of your story, and how you LEAD into the action in the first chapter, instead of just throwing us in headfirst, which is fantastic writing. It really held my attention, all the characters really jumped off the page for me too. I’m excited to see where things go here! I really like your writing style too-I found it very immersive and gripped me all the way through, so great job with that. I know you said this is a first draft, but just watch your grammar and spelling a bit, but nothing crazy threw me out of the story. Also, I just wanted to mention, I like that you had a disclaimer at the beginning, as it allowed me to get into the right headspace while reading. All in all fantastic job :) "

Wonderful characters with a good plot

"There were a lot of errors in the spelling, but the writer warned about this beforehand, so I didn’t mind at all. There were so many twists and turns, that you never knew what to expect. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, it turned out I was wrong. Overall it’s a really good story with characters that are real and I felt every bit of insecurity and anger. Wonderful"

Excellent Written and Plot

"This is an excellent beginning of a novel. There is a lot of intriguing characters especially the main character. It is easy to get inside of his head and get to know what he's thinking and feeling. However, the dialogue could use some work as it is hard to know who's talking at times. Nonetheless, it's a good start, and cannot wait to read the rest of it."

"The story was truly great and lengthy, just the way I preferred 🤩🤩 Though, I didn't like the part on how you explained about the old woman at the library 😔😔 I just like it when stories respected old people no matter what the genre is but hey, it's just my opinion if any books are gonna talk about old people ❤️💜❤️ However, when the female protagonist met the male protagonist, I found it really funny and I was literally laughing for minutes 😂😂😂 Not sure if I'm supposed to laugh at that but I did 🤣🤣🤣 The rest of the story really just intrigues the reader 😁😁 Overall, I can say that this story amazing but it does has it's flaws in my point of view. Example, the author has spelled "hurriedly" wrongly in the first chapter. I don't know if anyone noticed but I'm just telling it so that, the author knows where the mistakes are because sometimes as authors, we don't know where our mistakes are until someone tells 'em 😄😁 That's all from me, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 🤗💞✨ -Kookie 🍪💕"

Gripping!

"(ongoing, read til the end of 13) This was a very interesting read! The first chapter was a whirlwind of emotions and the subsequent chapters were very much the same - the writer has an good grasp of emotional writing which was crucial for allowing the reader to emphatise with A, who isn't your usual run-of-the-mill character; he's in the greyscale for sure. The descriptions were brilliantly written, especially when it came to describing feelings and emotions. The dialogue was well done too; each character's was distinct and, as you read further along, you could nearly tell who was speaking just from the word usage, so props to the author for capturing those distinctions. The dynamic between A and Ezra was very intriguing - A was very conflicted about his feelings (and for good reason) and the chapters where he was trying to overcome that were heartbreaking to read, but very realistic. There were a few tenses/grammar issues, but nothing that can't be fixed with some editing. All in all, a very intense and emotionally driven story - great job! :)"

Nice

"I don't stories which involve action or much in mafia because they cannot get that feel. After reading your book this became my favorite. I like how you describe everything. Keep writing! "

A Shadowed, Gritty World of Crime

"On The Verge is set in a Gotham-like city with gangsters and mafia lurking the alleys of its grim atmosphere. The author clearly showed us the world where the story is taking place. Your writing style reminded me of Fonda Lee's, and you are excellent in fleshing out your action scenes - it's a thrilling ride for someone who loves adrenaline-filled scenes. The set of characters are also very well-written, from Avery to Leo and Theo with his mysterious, and cheeky demeanor. But I loved Leo the most, she's a kickass female MC and that gruesome scene involving Lou and Vanna was incorporated very well with the setting. As for the grammar and misspellings, there are times when I backtrack a little to fully understand some sentences. You said yourself that you're still editing, and I'm familiar with these too. What matters the most is the story and how you communicate your world to your reader and you did it so well. All things aside, I loved your writing style and the plot - I'm already bracing myself for more thrilling and intense scenes especially with Leo. Overall, I'm recommending this to crime aficionados out there, with a heart for a little mystery and thrillers. You're off to a great start, author. Keep writing! :)"

One of a kind

"From the very start, this story pulled me in. In the centre of the story is A, a character who deals with his brother's death and is navigating the harsh world of drug cartels and prostitution chains. The author has created this unique and suspensful world, characters with chilling backstories and once you start reading, you can't stop. Apart from a few typos, this book is my must-read kind of a book and I strongly recommend reading it. Keep up the good work!"

A Great start!

"The book is in its initial stages, but I could very well sense the tension and suspense building up in the beginning chapters. The author has created a dark, grim world of drug cartel and the MC is an important part of it all, There seems to be underlying mysteries about the deaths of some characters which might prove significant in the following chapters. Character description seems to be a strong-suit of the author, and apart from some minor typos, the book definitely is a great read!"

ON THE VERGE

"I have read to a point where I am sure I can give a candid opinion to your story. I love the fact it is completed, that was a great effort from you. The story took a while to pick up but it eventually did nicely and that was brilliant. However, I have a few suggestions which of course are not odd. Your work needs editing for example in chapter 4, there were a few words repeated. Some chapters were too detailed, but can be left that way if you feel it will make readers grab it well. Definitely, with good editing, the work will sparkle the way you intend it. Overall, good work and brilliant effort."

"(Read until the end of chapter two) Firstly, I would like to say well done for writing your first book, I know from experience how difficult it is. There are a few things I'd like to bring up though. Firstly, I spent the first chapter confused over whether A was a girl or a boy, it wasn't until later when he was having sex and we found out his name was Avery did I realise he was a boy. This isn't important, but just something to keep an eye on. Your paragraphs are very long, which can be difficult for the readers to comprehend as they can't focus. Your chapters are also exceptionally long, as a lot happens in each chapter, I would suggest breaking them up. I like the air of mystery around Avery's brothers death, and I liked his reaction when he first met Ezra, that was really well written. Keep up the really good work, Sofia"
