Prologue

Alison

All I knew was the life of an MC club. My father was the founding father of the Armored Beasts as he was the president of the club, his wife, my mother was the club’s queen. Everyone looked up to her for love, for a mother figure in this world we lived in but that ended before I turned 9 years old. My mother was gunned down by a rival MC club to get some sort of revenge, I was just a little girl who was now lost while my father buried himself in finding who did this to the love of his life. My brother who was 9 years older than me decided to prospect for the club.

When Phoenix moved into the house next door to mine, we became best friends, sisters. I became the happy little girl again having friends I could play with and hang around with while my father and brother were busy but of course, that changed too. Phoenix’s mum took both Phoenix and her younger sister Anastasia and left to never return again. That was when I became the lost girl once again.

When my brother Tristan got patched into the club, I was so happy for him after everything we had gone through with losing mum, I was so proud of him. When I turned 17, I had a little crush on one of the guys who was in the club.

I knew it would never go anywhere but at 17 I didn’t realize that. His name was Hugo McCoy but by the club, he went by “Gunner” he was a little older than me he was 23 years old but me being the princess of the club I was off-limits which kinda sucked when every time he would smile at me my heart would skip beat.

The more I hung around him the more we got closer till one night the club had a party. I had been down the hall drinking when Gunner had walked down the hall and caught me. He had a smirk on his face and shook his head as I begged him not to tell my father anything but when other people started to come down the hall he pulled me into his dorm room.

Over the next few hours, we sat in his room and drank the night away but one thing leads to another and we both ended up naked and having sex and for months after that we ended up in the same bed but we kept it a secret from everyone because we knew that my father and brother would throw a fit about it and probably kill him. I started to feel butterflies inside whenever he would touch me. It made me feel like someone cared for me.

I had caught feelings for him.

The night it was Gunner’s birthday I had also my graduation, my father had thrown us a party together. As the night went on I barely saw Gunner as some of my friends wanted to dance but when I got some time by myself I went looking for him, when I opened his door I saw something that broke my heart. Gunner was buried deep inside a sweetbutt. Biting my lip as I tried not to cry I closed the door shut leaving them to it. Walking slowly back to the main area of the clubhouse, I grabbed a bottle of jacks and walked outside.

I kept my distance from the clubhouse from that night on but a month later my father was shot dead in his bed. I was the one who found him...

After everything that happened, I packed some bags filled with clothing and some items that were special to me and went to the clubhouse to tell my brother what I was doing. Every time I looked at the clubhouse I saw my father but when I looked past that I saw that night Gunner was with the sweetbutt. So I left. I left the town I grew up in, I left my big brother behind.

How could I be so stupid to think someone would want to be with me?

I was now just a girl who lost her parents and got heartbroken over some guy...

Over the years of being away, I thought I could do it on my own for a while so when I turned 18 I got myself a job at the local bar all while I went to college to become a hairdresser. When I finally finished and got myself a job at the hairdressers down the road. I barely spoke to my brother over the years of being away because I didn’t know what to say to him. I felt bad for leaving him behind but he had his club, his brothers. Me? I had no one.

Till I met Owen. I met him at the local bar I worked at. He was charming, sweet, funny you know all those things he asked me out a few times but I kept saying no till I decided to say fuck it why not.. Big Mistake.

We went on a few dates but I didn’t feel anything like I did with Gunner. So I called it off and went back to my single life. It started out as phone calls and text messages saying that he missed me etc but after months of that I knew I had to change my number. Then Owen started to leave me things at the front door of my apartment like flowers and jewellery, then they were left at my work.

It got to the point I had to get a restraining order against him but there was nothing the police could do because he hadn’t been threatening me...

After another month of this bullshit, he started to threaten me. It got to the point where I was scared to leave my home. I didn’t tell Tristan I knew I should have but I knew he would have a lot going on with the club.

But then it all stopped.

The text messages stopped. The calling stopped. The gifts.

Everything he was doing stopped.

It meant that I was able to get back to work without being in fear.

Of course, that changed when one night I was working I took a break and headed out the back. Owen came up behind me and started to attack me and became abusive, feeling me up then punched and kicked me to the point where I nearly blacked out until someone stopped him.

The Miracle Killers motorcycle club helped me that night.

Turns out I already knew their President Banshee as I was her hairdresser. It was crazy how this world was small, you could run into anyone really. I became really close with her and her club until I left to come back home with my best friend Phoenix.

Turns out she and my brother were having a little thing going and they had a fight and she wanted to get away for a bit. After she told me that she had a tattoo shop set up back home and that they all missed me she convinced me to finally get my ass back home. I was scared about it because I hadn’t stepped foot back into this town since I was 17-18 years old.

Now after months of being back my best friend gets shot and now Gunner. It was like it was happening all over again.
